Friendly gathering of swimmers down for the weekend to work on cold and ocean swimming skills. It was a real boost to my swim confidence, things have been lagging a bit but swimming and pushing my boundaries with good people was exactly the what I needed to help reset my focus. It was fun to show off my neck of the woods in New Brunswick too.

SWIM THE STRAIT, DAY 1

Day 1 we hit up 2 beaches to get our feet wet.

Aboiteau: air 9.3C, water 10.0C

Baie Verte: air 15.3C, water 9. 7C

SWIM THE STRAIT, DAY 2

Ride the tide! Today we hit 3 beaches for 3 swims, following the rise of the tide along the way until we hit home beach on Baie Verte. Getting in each time become a progressive test of mental fortitude and heightened body awareness of the impact of repeated exposure to cold. Swims each lasted from 17-35 minutes, lots of fun and plenty learned!

Parlee Beach: water 8.5C, air 11.7C

Plage de l'Aboiteau: water 9.6C, air 18.6C

Baie Verte: water 10.5C, air 17C

SWIM THE STRAIT, DAY 3

Ride the tide again today! Despite being tuckered out from yesterday's swims, we hit the same beaches again today. Harder to get in, but rewarding once you got moving. Swims each lasted 30 - 45 minutes. Beautiful weather, fun times with friends, what a way to spend the weekend!

Parlee Beach: water 9.9C, air 14.5C

Plage de l'Aboiteau: water 11.5C, air 19C

Baie Verte: water 11.7C, air 20C

I didn't have time to get patches made, but then I remembered I'm pretty good at randomly making stuff! Felt base, hand-stitched design, machine-stitched border, adhesive backing to hold it in place while sewing it on to your swim bag or parka.
