Some is better than none!!
I haven't been swimming all that much, and a few months ago I hurt my wrist so it's been a bit of a shit show all around. But I headed to Pennsylvania anyhow for Mary's 24-in-24 anyhow, which is to swim a mile on the hour every hour for 24 hours. I showed up ready to do whatever my body would let me (without further injury, that is), even if that was only 1-2 miles. I made it to 8 miles, my wrist started to ache a little and I decided that was my limit...and a pretty great win.
I took a picture of myself before it all started - smiling and proud that I showed up even though I knew I wasn't going to finish it all. Over the last couple of years I've been working on my confidence, and it shows. Also, dang girl, check out this consistency:
31:02, 31:58, 31:29, 32:08, 32:08, 32:04, 32:15
35:40 cooldown
Thanks to Mary Stella for putting on this fundraiser to benefit her pool and community, she did all that and swam it too, she's pretty amazing. Getting in and out of the water like that and staying up all night is no joke. Glad I got to participate, thanks for having me!
