I did a thing today!!! Swam in the big blue sea for 45 minutes, it was overcast and windy and I didn’t want to get out. I’d say it was less “conquering a fear” and more of a “I did it and I didn’t fall apart”. Listen here, you hardy ocean swimmers, open water swimming wasn’t a thing when I was growing up in the maritimes, not on lakes and certainly not in the ocean. So my fears come from not only an overactive imagination, but also lack of familiarity and fear of the unknown. But today I did a thing!!! Note: high turnover rate = scared shitless.
